Out of Time

"Why aren't you in the office?" Loki asked our heroine as he leaned against the threshold of the kitchen.

"I'm not talking to you." she said not bothering to look up from the magazine she was reading.  Snapping his fingers, Loki made the glossy pages disappear. Sighing our heroine leaned back in her chair, her arms crossed under her boobs giving them a boost.

"Now that I have your full attention. Let me ask once more. Why are you not at work in the office?"

"Which one is it? Huh? Which one of my pack..." she stood facing him, daring to take a step towards the dark haired god. "did you bring here? And don't say it's not them because Rufus...Rufus wouldn't be here if it wasn't." she snarled as she was nearly nose to nose with him, her hazel eyes flashing the amber-grey of the wolf.

Smirking at her, Loki licked his lips as he shifted position, reaching his right arm up to lean on the wall his fingers spread, twitching as if doing push ups against it. His other hand suddenly around her throat as he grabbed her, bringing her in close to him. "It's not your precious Ripper. Trust me on that, he's not getting here ever. I've got other plans for him for the foreseeable future." he had her pinned against the wall so quick our heroine didn't have time to breathe. "And don't get your skirts all puckered up, it's not Reuben either. Or Ash, or Leo, and you already know it's not Rolf cause I'm fully aware of your connection still with him." his voice lowered to a whisper. "I'm in your head. Always have been." he nodded his brown eyes flashing pure black before becoming the amber-grey of the wolf. "So, process of elimination. That leaves one member of your original pack doesn't it..." he tightened the grip he had on her throat before letting her go completely. Moving from her, Loki raised his hands rubbing his one wrist as he started to move around the room, pacing deliberately in front of the kitchen table where the scrapbook and The Seer's spellbook were still. A sound of disgust escaped his throat as he flicked the edge of the spellbook. "I've been fighting a battle that I can never win. No matter what I do someone else is always one step ahead of me. You know you were never suppose to hook up with him. The Seer I mean. He was suppose to be somebody else's pet. He was somebody else's pet. Then he got a glimpse of you in that brain of a crystal ball of his, and suddenly you were the hottest ticket in town." picking up the spellbook, he balanced the weight of it in one hand as he delicately flipped the pages, letting the crispness of them echo in the room. "Realized you were the key ingredient to his biggest magickal coup. Only it backfired because you two liked each other." he closed the book shaking it at her. "Don't suppose you ever had the balls to tell your precious Ripper what happened in that lighthouse before they all came charging in to save your ass?" his eyes went wide as he tossed the spellbook back down. "While The Seer was all soulless and working his sidhe mojo...only he didn't need to actually seduce you with magick, did he? Didn't even need to get you drunk." he sniffed moving back towards her knowing she couldn't deny it. "Na, didn't think so. We keep separating you two, different species, death, different realities, yet somehow you and that witch keep finding each other." Taking a step backwards, Loki waggled his finger at her as he picked up the scrapbook this time. "Pirates."

"What?" our heroine's voice was weak as she tried to breathe again, the room having felt like it was closing in on her.

"Damen. He adores the stories his uncle Harker tells him about his days as a pirate. Wants to be just like him when he grows up. So you might want to add a page on Blackbeard or some nonsense." tossing it against the wall, Loki shimmered away.

5 hours later...

Edward opened the door to his apartment soaked from the rain, balancing the bag of groceries in hand, a piece of red licorice hanging out of his mouth. Hitting the light switch nothing happened. Sighing, the dark haired male shuffled across the room reaching to turn on the table lamp, again nothing happened. The storm must have knocked the power out. Dropping his groceries on the kitchen table, he swore. This day had been one thing after another, from the set director not showing up at the studio, the props manager falling asleep half the time, looking paler then dish soap, then the storm that seemed to start on his way home. The worst part was he swore someone was following him around all day. Made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end.

Opening the door to his storage room, Edward began to feel along the wall for the fuse box. "Shack!" he screamed as he felt something cut his palm. "This would go so much easier if I had a light." he grumbled as he shook out the pain in his hand. He screamed again falling back a few steps into the half opened door, landing on his butt as he brought his hand up to his face. His left hand was glowing an orange colour, a sharp hot pain extending through his fingers.
