plot: While traveling through Europe, Elvira and her trusty servant, find themselves trapped in the castle Hellsubus. Strange things begin to happen as the two interact with the Hellsubus family, along with Dr. Bradley-Bradley. Things get even weirder for Elvira when she discovers she's the spitting image of the long dead wife of the crazed Hellsubus.
This is a 2001 comedy starring Elvira and Richard O'Brien.
This is pretty much a spoof on all the old horror films of the 1960's and 1970's, giving much of it's plot to Edgar Allen Poe's Fall of the House of Usher and Pit and the Pendulum.
The idea of a classic ghost story was a good one, but it got a bit lost in translation with a few of the gags, like when Lady Hellsubus coughs up a lung; or the dancing scene that really feels out of place.
Given the material, this should have been better then it is. Though I do get a kick out of this whenever I watch it, for me it just doesn't hold up as well as the original Mistress of the Dark, film does.
