movie: The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert
starring: Hugo Weaving, Terence Stamp
genre: Drama, Musical
year: 1994
format: TV Edit
plot: Three drag queens travel across country, performing as they go. Before long, secrets are exposed, causing some heartbreak.
All I could think through this was that Terence Stamp looked like he was fed up. I don't know if it was just the show-girl head dresses that pained him in his scenes, or if he was just not happy to be there?
The end seemed very lackluster. They travel for what is suppose to be weeks, seemingly meeting up with the same events over and over again. People who seem to just not want them there, no matter how sweet they are to their faces. Now, you've heard (read) me say this before, I don't know if that angle was the actual storyline or just the way the channel edited it?
The last half of the movie, where they arrive at their hotel, and are embraced by the ex-wife was one of the few expected moments. Bit rushed almost like an afterthought, but then again might have just been where the channel edited it for time.
what did I learn? Even the toughest men work heels better than I could.
