Coffee Tea Sugar Me
Edric continued biting his bottom lip, as he stood outside the club waiting for our heroine to pay the cab. She'd talked him into wearing a pair of very snug dark jeans, and a navy blue t-shirt that was too small. It was one he had been given from the wardrobe department of My Gothic Kitchen after one of the lead actors tossed it aside refusing to wear it. Up till that night, it had just sat in the back of a drawer. "So what's on the agenda?" he asked leaning closer to her, once she'd finally returned.
"What do you mean?" her voice got lost in her purse as she began hunting for something.
"You said you had an experiment in mind then you brought me here." he pointed to the club, loud music blasting from behind the closed doors. "What are we going to do? Drunken bull riding, country karaoke, line dancing?" he shrugged his hands now in his back pockets. "Or is this some kind of kinky sex club...cause I don't think that's...yeah no on that one."
"You can do whatever you want. Just give me a half hour in there okay." she checked her eyeliner in a small hand mirror. Grabbing his hand she dragged him through the main doors, having to adjust to the lack of lighting before proceeding through the small entrance. "Okay so...damn you are beautiful. You are going to go over there, grab a drink, play pool or what have you." she gestured with her left hand, still holding his with her right. "And when you do, all the other women in the bar will be on you like...you are straight right?" Edric had begun swinging their still clasped hands, leaning closer to hear her. "Doesn't matter if you're not, you just need to pretend to be for like a half hour. And while all the women in the club are trying to get in your pants, that leaves all the guys open. And one is bound to get bored waiting for whatever's left and seeing me over there by myself..."
"Wait!" Edric brought his free hand up just level with her nose. "You brought me here to be your wingman?" the sandy-blonde haired male felt all the air suddenly leave his lungs. He unlocked his fingers from hers, dropping her hand before hugging his elbows.
"Yeah why else? And while you're standing there being all Chris Hemsworth-like; this gives me the change to catch the eye by default of the hottest guy in the bar so I can go home with him."
Edric's eyebrows knitted together in puzzlement as he tilted his head to the side. Gesturing then between them, he licked his lips. "Um...your plan just had me as the hottest guy in the bar. So...if you want the hottest guy here...we could have just stayed at my apartment." he shook his head "I...I...just don't get you." he shrugged as she patted him on the chest before moving off to the end of the bar. "This is pointless. I'm sure I'll regret this before the end of the night." he let his hand slap his thigh in frustration. "I look like I should be on the cover of a bad romance novel. Not even the good kind, but like the ones you find in the dollar bin clearance bad. I can't believe I let her dress me?"
"Well honey, how about you let me undress you?" a voice said from his right shoulder. Turning Edric pushed his glasses up on his nose as he surveyed the situation. The woman was dressed in a hot pink mini dress that left nothing to the imagination. Letting out a deep breath, he threw his head back before turning and walking away from her.
He'd barely been standing at the bar when a beer was slapped down in front of him. "I didn't order this." he said pointing to the bottle. The bartender shrugged pointing to a chick a few seats away. "Free beer. That's not suspicious" Two shot glasses were placed just as quick beside his left wrist, the bartender once again pointing to another woman a few feet away. "I don't like this. This feels dirty." he pushed the drinks aside and moved away from the bar heading towards where our heroine was. "Hey!" he reached to cover his butt as someone pinched it. Edric was unable to tell which of the women at the nearest table had been the culprit; but he was betting on the one who was devouring a penis shaped lolli, as he continued to make his way across the room. Nosferatu was standing completely alone on the far side of the building by the jukebox when he finally managed to escape the crowd. Sighing, he rolled his blue eyes. "I need to be dusted for prints. You knew this was ladies' night didn't you?" he remarked as he ran his hand through his hair, leaning against the wall beside her. "Is it working? Have you venus fly trapped your man snack for the night, cause I'm leaving."
"We just got here." she leaned in closer to him, in order to be heard over the music. "I told you the plan." The male had had enough as he brought both palms up in a surrender motion before leaving the building out the nearest exit. Once he was outside standing alone on the street, he let out a strangled groan of frustration, his face pointing to the sky. Turning around in a full circle twice arguing with himself, the male swore before heading back in. Something forced him again to cross the sea of people, noticing more than a few pairs of eyes on him as he did, ignoring the grabbing hands and comments, as what seemed an invisible string refusing to let him abandon her. She was still standing in the same spot, still alone. He picked her up throwing her over his shoulder, ducking out the nearest exit. He didn't drop her to her feet until they were a half block away.
"There plan half way worked. You left with the hottest guy in there." he pushed his glasses up on his nose again. "Happy?" The female made a huff as she turned and headed back in the direction of the bar. "Oh no you don't!" Edric said grabbing her by the elbow swinging her back to face him as he pointed to himself. "I look like a fool in this." he grabbed a handful of the shirt. "You humiliated me, do you know that?" he gestured wildly towards the empty street. "I thought when you invited me out tonight that you actually wanted to be with me. But instead, you left me standing there like a piece of dog food. Using me to get what you wanted, without even considering how it would effect me."
She reached her left hand up caressing his face, before removing his glasses tucking them into a loop on the side of his jeans. Edric leaned into the kiss, not having been prepared for just how intense it would be. He had never been the type to loose his mind over a woman, but he found himself fighting off butterflies his knees weak. Breaking the kiss, our heroine reached for his glasses, handing them to him again. "Welcome to my world." she said coldly licking the corner of her lips moving back a half step.
"So this...this was a joke to you?" his voice raised a few notches as he pointed then at the ground, once again closing the gap between them, his breath hitting her hair. The male's blue eyes began to shine with emotions. "This was a joke?" his voice became lost in a whisper then. "This whole evening was nothing more than a revenge fantasy?" he took a step back from her, his hands locked behind his neck. "Nothing more than a power play huh?" he nodded bringing his thumb and finger up to squeeze the bridge of his nose, his glasses still in his other hand. "What, you thought that oh Edric's pretty therefore he must not have any feelings? That it wouldn't matter if you jerked me around?" He moved from her again. "What are you some sort of emotional vampire?" He sniffed as a long rope of saliva dripped from his lip."You're absolutely soulless." He had turned from her, his back to the street, the sound of her shoes informing him she'd turned her back on him.
Meanwhile...
Out of Time
Our heroine coughed up the blood as she rolled over onto her side. A sharp pain still reverberating through her chest and lungs. Slamming her hand onto the floor as she forced the remaining blood out of her lungs, as she shook off the dream. Gasping for air she heard the voices of both Edric and Dagan asking what happened? She waved them off making it to a kneeling position, her eyes having gone the pure white of the banshee. A growl that escaped her turned into a full on scream, causing everyone; to cover their ears, running out of the building.
It was a full twenty minutes, before the two males returned to the little occult shop both feeling an uneasiness in their stomachs. Our heroine now sitting on the edge of the sofa a cup of steaming tea in hand. "I know what The Seer is after. I know what he's doing, and I think I know how we're going to stop him." she replied as Dagan sat down beside her.
"Great, just tell me how I get to finally hurt him..." the auburn haired male growled, his blue eyes filled with anger.
"Not you. Us." she answered pointing to Edric. She got up from him, stood on the sofa and climbed over the arm; moving to where the fledgling was standing, her right hand on his elbow. "This isn't a shapeshifter thing, this is a vampire thing. This one isn't your fight." she proceeded to wrap her other arm around the fledgling's waist pushing him out of the building.
"You mind cluing me in here?" the hybrid said as they made their way down the street at what felt like warp speed. Our heroine stopped, shaking her head before placing both palms on either side of his face. She seemed unable to tear herself away from his eyes, the dream still haunting her. She fully expected to see the dream glasses there.
"I promise it will make sense okay. But Edric..." she swayed closer to him, her stomach grazing his. "You're not going to like the plan. I'm going to ask you to do something you're not going to be happy with." she closed her eyes, searching her mind for the words to express herself.
"You're actually starting to scare me now." his voice croaked under the strain.

Coffee Tea Sugar Me
"I think the new guy has a crush on you." Edward said pointing to our heroine's new assistant. The other male quietly made his way over to the table where they were sitting, a stack of notes in hand.
Our heroine had her nose in the menu and failed to notice. "Like I'm hanging off every word because you're so cool brewster type of crush, or the way men get friendly with themselves when watching the table dance in that western vampire movie, type of crush?" The carefully arranged stack of files suddenly went crashing down across the table as her new assistant tripped. She still didn't look up from her drinks menu, just began shuffling the notes to the side in a haphazard pile. Edward broke out in a small laugh as he raised his eyebrows at the whole idea, refusing to move over for him, forcing Edric to stand there a little lost. Our heroine slid a few centimeters into the corner of the booth, allowing Edric a seat.
"Hi." Edric's voice was like a soft mouse as he gave a half raised hand before clearing his throat in a nervousness, pushing his glasses up his nose. His sandy-blonde hair brushed back in an awkward limp mohawk.
"Yeah that." Edward continued to laugh silently as he crossed his arms leaning on the table.
"I have a new crush of my own." our heroine said slamming the menu closed, handing it then to Edward ignoring the waiting hand of the man to her right. "I couldn't sleep the other night, so I thought I would get to work on the newest character outlines for My Gothic Kitchen, which of course got really old really quick. So I went looking for inspiration online..."
"Yeah." Edward sighed as he studied the wine list a minute longer than needed to just to keep the menu away from Edric. "Did you get inspired?'
"No. Nothing. Then I went for a walk, got a coffee and there was this guy there..." her voice raised a little as she pulled back now debating if she should be admitting she had a weakness.
"I think that was Sunday night, I've seen you there a few times, and I saw you but you didn't notice me..." Edric said finally getting the drinks menu, his voice still getting lost in their conversation.
"What was he doing? Working there, just sitting having a coffee what?" Edward smoothed down his tie not looking at either of them. "I'm hanging on your every word..." he giggled as she slapped his arm.
"He was sewing. Can you believe it? Sitting in the middle of the coffee shop, sewing a tear in his t-shirt. But the boy was hot. We should see if we can get him for the soap. He'd make a great new leading man." She turned to glare at Edric's empty hand. "Why aren't you writing this down?" the male pushed his glasses up his nose again as he reached for a pen from the pocket protector he had, before stretching across the table for the writing pad.
"You want me to just note the comment about the new lead or ..." nodding he began to write.
"Where did we dig this guy up?" our heroine asked Edward.
"I was originally in wardrobe." he mumbled under his breath. The waiter appeared at the table taking the menu "I..haven't..I haven't..."
"I'm Landin, I'll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with drinks?"
Edward's phone started to bing loudly forcing him to answer it. "I have to take this, it's my grandmother." he said slipping out of the booth and heading out the front door. Our heroine turned towards the waiter suddenly grabbing his arm. She had to reach across Edric, her boobs dangerously close to his nose.
"I will climb over you if I have to." she stated with a sigh, just as Edric had flatted himself against the back of the seat his hands up in surrender. Shoving her assistant out of the booth, she slid out herself to stand beside the waiter smoothing down her pencil skirt. "Say, your cousin still work here? Ruthven?" she turned then towards the back lounge without waiting for an answer; the bleached blonde male following her instantly.
"He's in the staff room but you can't ..." they disappeared through the doors that divided the bar from the rest of the restaurant. Edric finding himself sitting alone suddenly, the mass of papers still scattered on the table. When Edward finally returned, he sat down a puzzled look on his face.
"Where'd she go?" he asked pointing to the empty seat.
"In back." Edric cleared his throat hooking a thumb over his shoulder.
"Ah man! I knew we should have gone somewhere else. This always happens. Ruthven's working right? Yeah, she's not coming back. She's slipped off out the back with him. Man I don't know why..." the dark haired male got back up putting his jacket on. "Might as well just go home or whatever. She'll have some lame excuse in the morning at the office." he shook his head taking off out of the building.
Edric tossed his bag down on the sofa as he entered the apartment. The sight of his new puppy the only comfort to his day. The little multi coloured St. Bernard mix, jumped up at his shin panting. "Did Quentin from upstairs remember to walk you this afternoon?" he asked as he bent down to play with the pup. It yelped, running in a circle then heading towards the table where the dog leash was kept. Edric took a quick look around the apartment just to check that the puppy hadn't messed anywhere. Content that it hadn't, he grabbed his keys and the dog leash.
He had been gone about an hour with the puppy, heading back home when he'd decided to stop in at the coffee shop for a few minutes. Keeping an eye on the puppy that was tied up outside, as the sandy-blonde turned around in the line, he smashed into someone, spilling half the coffee on them both. Edric felt his throat close as he realized it was his boss, Nosferatu. "I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there."
"Yeah...hey it's you." she said looking worn out. "Oh." she pointed to the coffee stain that was rapidly spreading down the male's chest and white shirt sleeve. She on the other hand was dressed in a black pencil skirt and black zipped up jacket, the splashed coffee unnoticeable. "Sorry about that. I don't even think the best dry cleaner can fix that." she let out a sigh. "At lest let me buy you another cup." she commented shuffling around him to order. He quickly threw the now half empty one into the trash pushing his glasses up his nose as he did. She was beside him suddenly, holding out a small tray of coffee and a bag. "I guess I sort of owe you dinner too." she remarked gesturing with her elbow towards the door. Seeing his owner, the puppy began jumping up on his back legs, his front paws treading air. "He yours?"
"Yeah." the sandy-blonde male answered quietly as he bent to untie the leash from the bike stand. A set of pens falling out of the pocket protector he'd forgotten to remove after work.
"What's his name?"
"Um..." the male blushed suddenly feeling stupid. "Puppy. I've only had him for a few days and still haven't come up with anything." he scooped up the creature gesturing towards the little patio outside the coffee shop.
"I've already taken up too much of your time." she removed her own coffee handing him the tray and paper bag.
"I've...I've got all night, practically anyways." he cleared his throat again bringing the puppy up to his chin, sniffing it's fur to cover his nervousness. "I literally live right there anyways so..." he pointed to the next building.
"I should let you deal with that shirt." our heroine replied, her pale delicate fingers suddenly brushing at the edge of his collar.
"Little vinegar, club soda and baking soda before washing will take care of most of it." he said off handedly. Our heroine tilted her head in disbelief. "What you don't believe me?"
"No. Can't. I've had too many outfits ruined myself by spilled coffee." she found herself walking in step with him without having even realized they were moving. She stood in his kitchen less then five minutes later waiting, as Edric went into the other room to change.
"Can you hand me the baking soda. It's on the second shelf over the stove." he called from the bedroom. Opening the cupboard, our heroine grabbed the little yellow and white box, moving into the hallway, following the light. Her breath caught as she nearly stumbled, stopping short of the bedroom threshold. Holding the little box of baking soda, she was caught staring. Edric was standing there having removed the sweater and dress shirt he'd been wearing for work. "You okay?" he asked, his voice still so low.
"You've...you're..." she leaned one hand against the doorframe, the other on her hip.
"What?" he asked checking to make sure he hadn't missed another coffee stain on his pants.
"Got a great body." the female stammered as she continued to hover just outside his bedroom door. "Why do you hide under ten layers of clothes at work?"
"Cause it's work." he said flatly. "Wouldn't be appropriate to be standing around the copier half naked." he ran his hand through his hair blushing slightly realizing she was still staring.
"How the hell have I never noticed you before?" blinking, she had to take a physical step back. It was all she could do to keep from moving towards him and running her hands through the finely strewn hair across his chest.
The sandy-blonde male pushed his glasses up on his nose once more, as he sprayed the vinegar and club soda mixture from a small spray bottle. "Because you've been too busy drooling over that camera man Dagan." he huffed. The little puppy yelped as he sniffed then at the female's ankles, before snorting in satisfaction that she wasn't going to hurt his owner. It then proceeded to cross into the room jumping up on the bed.
"We all make mistakes." she nodded. "Um...you have anything bottom wise other than those office styled suit pants? Like jeans maybe?"
"Don't most normal people?" he forgot for the moment who he was talking to, his bitterness just a little in control still.
"Great, change into a pair and be quick. I've got a little experiment I want to do. We're going out."

year 5 day 172
movie: Bad Moms
starring: Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn
genre: Comedy, Drama,
year:2016
format: Cinema
plot: After finding out her husband is cheating on her, an overstretched mother of two decides she's had enough, and refuses to clean, cook or work; choosing instead to hang out with her new overworked mom friends.
What starts off as a "starting over" buddy comedy, breaks down into nothing more than a popularity contest between the two moms played by Kunis and Christina Applegate. With jokes that made it feel like every formulaic Hallmark made for tv movie to have come out in the last few years, than the big budget film it is.
The stay at home mom, played by Kristen Bell, had a brilliant set up storyline that never actually went anywhere. No pun intended. She's the "second sidekick" here, who has an overbearing husband that freaks out when he sees she's not at home one afternoon with the kids, and learns she left them with the babysitter. We see her later getting ready for a party and confesses the husband "is a never hard" (take a second let that sink in) which leaves the audience thinking the joke will play out one of two ways; either him being gay or having an affair. The gag rolls into a completely different direction in the last few seconds of the film, as if the writers had forgotten all about it.
And then there is the "token hot single dad", which could have been a brilliant excuse for more revenge/sabotage scenes between the Kunis and Applegate characters, but never actually went in that direction. He not only is the "token hot single dad/love interest" he's sort of a wasted plotline.
what did I learn? Penis jokes will always be funny

Coffee Talk -Night Bleeds
This would be your official Night Bleeds Announcement post for August.
This months selection for the year's all vampire book and movie club, happen to be Let The Right One In, both the book and movie. Easy combo that will make sense right. Okay, I'm giving you a twist here, since the original 2004 novel is in fact Swedish, and the first adaption of it, the 2008 film is as well, if you do not care for subtitles, than feel free to watch the 2010 English remake Let Me In. I will be daring to cover both films just in case.
Rules: read the book, watch the movie (in this case you can chose or do both) and blog about it. If you decide to cook/bake/craft anything inspired by it, add that to the blog. But the blog post must be current (Aug 2016) with a link back to this post or the Night Bleeds page. And drop me a comment if you have joined in.

Out of Time
"Um, how are we suppose to find a place to live, if we have no money?" Edric asked a little while later, as they sat in the corner of the deli. "I mean, we can't all work at the occult store can we? That's impossible. And from what you told me, Loki didn't really pay you for working at the publishing company. You were living rent free with him." he dipped a fry into the spiced sauce on the edge of his plate. "Does Eddie even still get any royalty cheques anymore for any of his books?"
"You bring up some good points. Which none of us have ever had to deal with before cause, well." she shrugged taking a sip of her iced coffee. "None of us needed to." our heroine couldn't help but smile as she watched the male eat. After the years of hanging around the packs, of dinners with Vlad's men, our heroine found it pleasant to just sit across the table from a man who didn't end up with grease across everything, or bits of flesh and bone hanging off his chin. "yeah, I have no idea how we're going to manage this?"
Edric burped loudly, causing our heroine to break out laughing. "What's so funny?" he asked wiping a napkin across his already clean face. She shook her head unable to loose the smirk, watching as the male crossed his arms on the small table, resting his chin on them. An impish spark slinking into his eyes. "So, if you and Dagan were mated by..."
"Claimed. It's called claiming."
"Claimed, by the sire bond and you said he had it magickally removed. Why does he still act like he owns you?" he moved his foot under the table bumping hers, stretching his leg out under her chair.
"I told you, we let the sire bond become too strong between us. The blood ritual, it was..." she let her mind drift to the time she was first alone with Dagan that drunken day in the rain. "...like it had a will of it's own. It does actually." she felt Edric's eyes on her suddenly like a weight bearing down on her chest.
"And if you and I..." he sat up moving his other leg under her chair, practically wrapping them around her ankles.
"We won't." she said with certainty. "I'm not your type." Edric slammed back in his seat tossing the napkin down. Grunting, he cleared his throat sliding a few feet closer to her, resting his arm across the back of her chair. "What are you doing?" she asked feeling suddenly very uncomfortable her heart beginning to beat just an second faster. The fledgling leaned in closer to her, sniffing her ear, her hair, his nose tickling her temple. His blue eyes were stone still for a too long a pause before he moved back, standing up, nearly a blur. The sound of the chair scraping on the floor the only indication that he'd moved. Reaching his hand out for her, he waited for the female to stand up.
"If I am understanding this correctly. You are my type. Now. You are my type because I dont' have a choice anymore. The sire bond has taken that choice away." He twisted his upper body to tell the owner they'd be back shortly. Licking his lips he started to move towards the door, still holding her hand. He led her around the parking lot making sure they were unseen from the main street. A sound that wasn't fully human nor completely animalistic filled the space between them, as he brushed his shoulder against her check. Another soft half moan escaped his throat followed by his mad giggle. The hybrid let his eyes flash for a split second to that of the wolf as he pressed his forehead against hers. "You said yourself the sire bond became inevitable. Why not just embrace it?" he shrugged, as another hot sigh hit our heroine's face.
Managing to unlock her fingers from his hand, she turned sharply on her heels. "No wait wait wait." the sandy-blonde male barked his fingers digging firmly at her waist. "I don't get what Dagan is always on you for you're not that big." his voice dropped to a whisper as he yanked her backwards. "Seriously. Just got a little revved up in there. I think that watered down chicken blood is already wearing off." he punctuated his sentence by squeezing her tighter to himself, giving a near howl. "Why don't you say we go a few blocks that way." he turned them both sharply to the right, his nose buried in her shoulder. "And see if we can make a withdrawal from the blood bank? Huh what do you say? Grab a bagged lunch. Play nursemaid to the drunks and volunteers working the clinic? Just the two of us no Dagan allowed."
And that was his second mistake.
If Edric hadn't of let her know he was trying to get rid of her sire, she would never have clued in to what he was really up to. She had to admit, it was a move well played. Edric must have realized there was no way right now he'd beat Dagan in a fight, so instead he was going to outsmart him. Bringing her left hand up to the back of his neck, she agreed. "Fine. We'll go rob the bank. At lest a few bags of O negative will clear your...head." she moved from him at werewolf speed towards the clinic.
Meanwhile...
The Seer was leaning in the doorway of the occult shop across the street, his perfect vision allowing him to see the couple through the deli window, as they sat alone, Edric's arm around her. They were too far away for his delicate werewolf ears to pick up everything that was said, but the body language was enough for him to get the idea. She was moving on with her sireling. For once, Edward's powers hadn't prepared him for that. He hadn't seen her choosing the fledgling as her new mate. Sniffing, the dark haired male looked off towards the east, his perfect lips forming an 'o' as he searched the sky for an answer. Entering the shop, he let out a deep sigh grabbing a box of books that had arrived that morning. He busied himself sorting and stocking them.
The little bell chimed as the door opened again about an hour later, our heroine entering, Edric a few steps behind his hands filled with the deli order as he walked to the kitchen. Spotting The Seer, she moved towards the shelves watching the male as he reached first for the pile by his feet, then as he stretched to place them alphabetically.
"How you feeling?" she asked not waiting for him to reply as she moved behind him, wrapping her arms around his chest, resting her chin on his shoulder. The Seer nodded commenting that he was fine. "You don't seem fine. You seem tense." she whispered sniffing him. "But you smell great." She began breathing deeply as she moved her nose across his neck and shoulders, sniffing his upper back; her hands roaming over his body.
"Um?" he gave a half laugh. "What are you doing?"
"I don't remember the last time you smelled this good." she continued to whisper. "I honestly think it might have been back in the lighthouse, before you ever became a werewolf?" she proceeded to move her pale hands down over his waist and across his hips.
"Probably just someone I ate." the shapeshifter replied flatly. Our heroine moved from him slamming her shoulder into the bookshelf.
"Are we okay?" our heroine suddenly felt like she was back in high school asking her best guy friend if he was still her friend; after he learned she had a crush on him and him telling her he wasn't interested. "I just got you back I don't want to loose you again." The Seer raised an eyebrow at her gazing up from under his lashes.
"We're good. I'm not going to lie, we'll be a lot better once you dump the human." he sighed turning a half inch leaning one elbow on the bookshelf. "Either you stop seeing Arthur, or you risk putting us all in danger."
"You think I haven't thought of that? Or you know been lectured already by a very very angry Loki." she stared off over The Seer's shoulder at a poster of a band from the 70's. "That's new." The Seer twisted his upper body to look at what she was staring at, the gap of his shirt exposing a tender area of his neck. Our heroine heard her stomach grumble.
"Not practicing what you're preaching I see." The Seer commented with a smirk.
"Just the frozen stuff. Feeding off of anyone who's not Loki, makes the blood taste like ricecakes. So basically he's spoiled my tastebuds." she reached out with her left hand, about to touch his face but pulled back. "Besides, without a pack alpha at the moment, I don't see how my choosing a wolf blood donor would be in any way keeping the peace?"
"You're afraid of what it will lead to?" he licked his lips, letting a mischievousness crinkle his blue eyes.
"Um yeah. Aren't you? We don't know if this reality plays by the same rules do we?" she shook her head, her hand now at the back of her hair. "We know magick here is limited from what we're used to. But what do we know about the whole of it? Tell me, do you remember wolfing out at all while Pan was sharing your brain? Dagan wolfed out then transformed back to his human self this morning, without any pain. That's unheard of. How do we know if in this reality if one of you dies, you're not coming back?"
"I get your point. And no..." he scratched his nose. "I can't remember much of things from Pan." The Seer lied as he let out a soft grunt. He moved his elbow still balanced on the bookshelf, knocking over a stack. A second pile also fell as he moved in a blur to fix it, letting them fall to the floor between them. Our heroine bent down to help clean them up, just as The Seer tripped, knocking them both to the floor. He startled her then as he gripped her chin with his right hand, his nails long glasslike claws. "But I do remember that night in the lighthouse." he licked the edge of her lip before running his hand over the length of her from her crown to just above her stomach. He let out a deep long sigh dropping his eyelids to half mast. "Do you remember me telling you about the old woman I had to seduce in order to learn the coloured Chakra trick?" he slowly moved his hand again up and down the lengthen of her, his palm seeming then to give off a soft green glow, before changing to a blue. Our heroine had to strain her eyes to see it, but it was there, hovering between them. "Ah, that's what I'm looking for." his voice took on a turn as he stopped moving his hand just between our heroine's chest and throat. A bright gold colour pulsated at the center of his palm. "Hold still, this is going to hurt a lot."
Blood poured from the female's mouth as she felt her insides being squeezed as if being wrung out. The Seer's hand had disappeared past the thumb as he removed his prize from her. Unable to breathe, she watched her friend now standing over her, a small golden coloured orb no bigger than a bean in his hand. "Well I guess that some of the limitations on magick are starting to lift." he popped the small orb into his mouth swallowing it. "Mmmm, Pan residue. Tasty." he shimmered out of the shop just as Edric and Dagan ran in, our heroine still not breathing.

The Nosferatu Adventures
page 273, chapter 273
Out of Time
Our heroine stood there in the little kitchen her arms crossed under her chest, giving her boobs a lift. She glared at Dagan refusing to talk to him; her attention squarely with Edric. He hadn't left her side since they'd gotten there as if he'd been glued to her shoulder. They watched as suddenly, the sheet was lifted from the other end of the magick mirror, exposing the little auburn haired nine year old. Edric let out a slight grunt as the female slammed into him. The feel of her delicate fingertips on the center of his lower back, sent electric shock waves through him. He realized he was there to play bodyguard, he didn't realize how the physical contact would begin to affect him in the process. A part of him wanted to rip her throat out at the very thought that she was that close to him. That she was expecting him to protect her and it disgusted him that he knew he would, no matter what he actually thought of her. Part of him wanted to rip her throat out just so he could taste her blood, knowing that he could then force her to feed on his own, strengthening their sire bond. The sire bond was a strange desire all it's own. It ticked away in Edric's mind, sometimes in time with the rushing of our heroine's blood, which he could hear louder than anything else in the room. He hadn't fed in a couple of days and it was starting to show.
That was his first mistake.
She was practically huddled in his armpit, doing her best not to look at the magick mirror. Dagan was already laughing and joking, asking how the kid's day had been, getting updated on the events on the other side of the mirror from Finn, learning that Rolf had gone to talk to the Queen about joining him against another kingdom. All the while, the salty copper scent that burned just below the surface of our heroine's skin filling Edric's senses. Intoxicating his already swimming mind. Closing his eyes he could feel his gums begin to swell, his mouth filling up with saliva.
He remembered nothing in the next few seconds before his head slammed against the floor. Half sitting on his hip, Edric was dazed as he licked his lips. Pink ropes of bloody saliva dripping from his bottom row of fangs; as he stared up at the other werewolf who had positioned himself between Edric and Nosferatu. Snarling, he was on his feet again, advancing towards Dagan, only stopping once the female grabbed him. The magick mist fading under a sudden blast of heat as he realized her hands were on his shoulders, pushing him back into the other room. "I'm going to slaughter him!"
"Let's see you try!" the older male screamed as he stood his ground.
"No you're not." she sighed once the fledgling had stopped shoving against her. Running his hand through his hair, he spun around in a complete circle before cracking his neck, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
"Why not?" he spoke through clinched teeth noticing the small smear of blood on the edge of her collarbone. The wound already healing, having no memory of causing it. His tongue darted out across his lips searching for any droplets of the crimson gold.
"Because he's faster than you, stronger than you. Older than you. You forget, Dagan had been a lycanthrope for about thirteen years before he created me. And that darling, was eleven years ago. He might look as young as you, but he's been at this a long time. And like it or not, he's still my sire. You feel the sire bond towards me just the same way I did towards him. I know what you're going through. How crazy it makes us. Worse when you don't feed." she brought her hands up again resting them first on his shoulders, then trailing them down his chest before turning him around and guiding him towards the door. "There is a deli down the street, we can scare up some blood there."
"Pig's blood! I don't want that crap!" he spat the word. Stopping cold he caused her to stumble slamming into him. Letting out a deep breath, she continued to push the male hybrid out of the building and onto the sidewalk.
"It will take the edge off! Besides." she dropped her hands down his back sending another wave of electric heat through the male. "We need to pick up dinner for when everyone gets back." she was trying to keep the fledgling occupied knowing that if he instigated a fight with Dagan, he would just be handing the alpha position to him. Edric was not ready for that fight. Dagan had been pack alpha for almost as long as he'd been a werewolf and Edric was barely a week turned. There was no other way she could protect him from that brutality. Turning him might have been an accident, but she wasn't ready to loose him just yet. Not too mention, she wasn`t sure yet that Dagan should be sticking around? She was still tossing back the idea that when she found a way to send Vlad back; just maybe Dagan should make the trip home too?
He stopped, spinning back around abruptly, glaring at her hotly. He was trying to assert his authority by refusing to move. "Is it always going to be like this?" he let out a short giggle. "Huh? One second feeling fine, the next the only thing I can think of is blood, flesh, ripping someone apart. Then the not thinking part because I can't control myself?" he brought his left hand up to his forehead, his finger point blank in the middle as he tilted his head closing his eyes."Cause right now, this really sucks." he moved just enough to close the gap between them, feeling the need to ensure the connection anyway possible. "Why is it, that every single fiber of my being" he cracked his neck opening his eyes, exposing the amber-grey of the wolf. "is telling me that you're suppose to be sucking the life out of me?" he made a face of pure frustration as he tilted his head back again. "That did not sound right." he slammed a closed fist into his other hand. "This is your fault!"
"It's the sire bond. I told you it makes us crazy." she backed up a few feet, refusing to break eye contact with him. Edric didn't miss a step as he stalked after her, his breath hitting her hair in angry exhales.
"There's something else you're not telling me. What is it?" his voice became a growl as he continued to force her backwards until they were at the edge of the building. Tendrils of grey steam rose from his chest as he began to loose control of the magick mist. Our heroine bit her bottom lip at seeing the t-shirt disappear then reappear across his muscular shoulders. At lest she thought, he was beautiful to look at. "Tell me!" his fingers dug into her upper arms as he shoved the female, causing her to bounce against the wall.
"The sire bond is what caused Dagan and I to become mated. It was inevitable." Edric's eyes became slits as they searched her face, another one of his mad like giggles escaping his throat. "If we hadn't of kept feeding off each other the way we did, we wouldn't have strengthened the bond to the point it had gotten to. Male werewolves mate for life." she had no choice but to divert her eyes. She was quickly loosing her restraint, his scent like a spiced invitation.
"So you're saying the next chick I shack I'll be stuck with?" his expression turned angrier as he brought his left arm up pointing down the street.
"Only if you fall in love. You can waste time with no consequences, but the sire bond pretty much trumps that." she gasped, feeling the tenseness of the male's body still pressing her against the brick wall of the building. He slammed his palm flat against the edge of the bricks, letting out a small growl.
Letting his face relax, his eyes turn back to their normal blue, pulling his shoulders a few centimeters away from hers. "So you're telling me that if we shack up, we risk being mated for life." he shifted position, his one knee dangerously close to the inside of her own."And that the sire bond is putting that idea in my head?"
"Right." the word was barely a hush. That seemed to be enough of a cold shower to calm some of his anger. Taking another half step back, Edric ran his hand over his face then across the back of his neck. As our heroine held her breath not wanting to remind him about the whole pack alpha part.
"Fine! We'll go to the deli. But I want a burger, and ribs." he turned storming off across the street as if the last few minutes had never happened.
"And there's that werewolf metabolism kicking in for the day." He was already ordering by the time she got across the street. Opening the door to the little deli, our heroine was struck by the overwhelming sensation of deja vu. She could not explain it, but seeing Edric standing there his hands resting on the counter, his one knee bent causing the dark jeans he had magick misted to be just a little snugger showing off his perfect thighs. Shaking her head, she reminded herself it was the sire bond getting to her now too. Edric's entire body language had changed the second he'd entered the deli. It seemed to soften, his guard no longer up. Our heroine watched as he interacted with the shop owner, smiling, his voice polite and low. Watched as he thoughtfully made a list of items that would be enough to feed their entire group at lest for the next 24 hours.
The owner nodded towards the back saying he needed to check the one item. Hugging his elbows, Edric waited till he was gone, then using his werewolf speed slipped behind the counter opening one of the display windows. Taking a paper cup he tilted a tray of something that smelled too sweet into it, before sliding back towards her. He handed her the little cup bringing a finger up to his lips gesturing for her to keep quiet before returning to his spot just as the owner came back out shaking his head. Edric had somehow managed to return to the exact position he'd been standing, his arms crossed hugging himself as if he'd never moved.
He turned then to look over his shoulder at our heroine. "It's going to be awhile till he's got the food for the bbq ready. You want to just hang out here or what?" Our heroine nodded gesturing towards one of the two tables that sat in the corners by the front door. "Cool. Hey, can I get an order of fries and a pop while I wait. She'll have an iced coffee." he said not bothering to ask her if she actually wanted an iced coffee. The female made a slight sound under her breath that only the hybrid could hear as she sat down waiting for him. He was going to test his limits every chance he got, she could see that now.
The male carried the two drinks over to the table, opening the lids taking the little paper cup and dumping half in each. Replacing the lids he gave them each a swirl before handing the iced coffee back to her.
"Did you just pour chicken blood into my coffee?"
"Yes ma'am I did."

Out of Time
Our heroine stood there in the little kitchen her arms crossed under her chest, giving her boobs a lift.
August Food n Flix Announcement
Spudguns! As I hinted at last month on the tail end of the Food n' Flix, post, I get to host another one. How did I swing that so soon you might be asking? It's no secret, it was to shut me up, pure and simple. But, I'll take it!
With it being the end of summer, I thought we would go with something light, something funny, something in a cartoon. So, my selection is Hotel Transylvania 2.
Dracula is a new grandfather with the recent birth of little Dennis. While it's uncertain if Dennis is going to be human or vampire when he grows up, both sides of the family are beginning to pressure each other to "conform".
Okay, while not a "foodie" movie by some standards, there is plenty of food ideas running around here. Many, which are talked about more than seen, and many that are "monster versions". I thought with the timing of season, a lighter film would be good for all. And take note, it is a sequel, but no you do not have to have seen the first to enjoy the second.
Rules: You must have a blog to part take. Watch the movie, and go into the kitchen and create something inspired by a scene or something directly from the movie. The post must be current (in this case during the month of August 2016) Make sure you link to both this post AND the Food n' Flix blog.
Then email me (domesticanddamned (at) gmail (dot) com) with a link to your blog post, the name of your dish, the name of your blog, and it's url, and a photo of your dish or give me permission to grab a photo. Make sure to title the email FOOD N' FLIX SUBMISSION.
Deadline: Monday August 29th 2016 at 6 pm EST. I hope to have the round up done the next day.
Have fun with it. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
