Day 116

Movie: Ed Wood
Starring: Johnny Depp, Bill Murray
Genre: Comedy, Bio-Pic,
Year:1994
Format: Shaw Video On Demand

Plot: We follow Ed Wood as he makes his three most famous movies, Glen or Glenda, Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 From Outer Space, all the while trying to help Bela Lugosi get off drugs.

This film was brilliantly shot not just in Black and White but in the style of the films it's remembering.  As in the way dialog was delivered. {all the actors in this film acted in an almost cardboard way when delivering their lines exactly the way movies of the 1950s did}

More time is devoted in this to the first two of Wood's more popular films, Glen or Glenda  and the Bride of the Monster aka Bride of the Atom, while the part of this movie that covers Plan 9 From Outer Space is done in a montage.

I don't think anyone else could have pulled off the character of the famous director other then Johnny Depp. He's as one of a kind as the man he was portraying.

What do I think I learned from this film?
 If you're going to do something every day for your life you have to do it completely out of pure love. No matter how bad the films of Ed D Wood Jr were, they were done for the shear love of it.  You have to have faith in yourself no matter what others say about your work or your belief.
