movie: Lockout
starring: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace
genre: Action, Drama
year: 2012
format: Shaw Video On Demand
plot: A former CIA agent is thought to have killed other members of his team and stolen documents, he ends up being the only chance for the daughter of the US present to get out alive from a riot on a space station.
I liked that Guy Pearce was in this. So far, everything I've seen him in, he's managed to play something different, (he's version of Andy Warhol in Factory Girl is still my favourite) which for actors in this day and age can sometimes be a difficult thing as many still get typecast.
With that said, there wasn't anything new in this film. Even with the addition of it being in the future, which you forget after the first two scenes, there wasn't much you haven't seen a million times over in other shoot em up get the hostages films.
The dialog was witty, fun to listen to and seemed very natural to see Pearce saying. I have to wonder how much was adlibed?
what do i think i learned from this film?
I didn't learn anything from this, other then it seems you can hear bullets in space
