Year 3 Day 67

movie: Murder in the Hamptons
starring: Poppy Montgomery, David Sutcliffe
genre: Crime, Drama, Bio-pic
year; 2005
format; TV edit

plot: A woman is thought to have murdered her husband in their Hamptons home, in order to inherit all his money. She quickly remarries her lover, and is told she has cancer. As she decides to turn down treatment, her second marriage spirals out of control.

This is a made for tv movie. Based on a true story.

There isn't a lot to say on this. It paints the Montgomery character as a very unsympathetic character from the start, placing her as the lead until the last twenty minutes, where it then shifts gears focusing on the character of the second husband, played by Shawn Christian.

I can't say that I liked it, and I can't say that I hated it. It played like a typical made for tv crime movie. It's told from the point of view of the people who knew the main characters, and not necessarily from the leads, giving it a news-documentary feel.
