WARNING! DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM IF YOU ARE DEPRESSED/BROKEN HEARTED/THINKING OF YOUR BIGGEST RELATIONSHIP!!
I liked this film. Didn't think that I would, but I did. There is something real in the way that this plays out. Normally, you have these types of stories told from a female's point of view (Sex and the City, Bridget Jones's Diary, anything by Jane Austen etc) but this being from a male's point of view just adds a twist of sweetness to it.
The dancing in the streets 80's video-scene was a bit silly, but when have we all not felt that way once in our lives?
The film jumps back and forth throughout, showing pieces of the relationship and comparing the good with the bad. I liked the fact that the adult friends are the sappy romantics, while the lead character's pre-teen sister is the rational voice in his life. Just goes to show that the older you get, does not always mean the wiser you get.
